When we leave on a travel, trip or a vacation, we often read Psalm 121, pray and then travel.

We became accustomed to hearing the words, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (v 1, 2).

God is our Helper.

You don’t have to go on a vacation or drive on a busy highway to know that.
Where does your help come from?
The psalmist lifted his eyes to the hills.

The most stable, secure thing the Jews knew were the mountains around Jerusalem. Then the psalmist lifted his eyes higher and said, “No, I don’t get my help from the hills. I get my help from the heavens”.

Whatever your need or task is today, your help will come from the Lord, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. A God big enough to make this world and keep it going is big enough to help you with your problems today.

God is also our Keeper.

“He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep” (v 3, 4).

This is a dangerous world we live in. Enemies would like to attack and destroy us. But as we walk in the will of God and depend on His power, He is there as our Keeper and Preserver. “The Lord shall preserve you from all evil” (v 7).

This verse doesn’t say we won’t have pain. It doesn’t say we will never suffer or sorrow.
Though we may be hurt, we won’t be harmed.

“He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore” (v 7, 8).

God is your Helper and Keeper.

No matter where your path in life leads, if you walk in His will, He will preserve you.

Walk with confidence today. You have a Helper, a Keeper and a kind Preserver, who will see you through in your present situation.

Frustrating Faith https://mymanna.org/frustrating-faith-3/ Fri, 02 Jun 2017 22:00:19 +0000 http://mymanna.net/?p=2849 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24 ESV) “I had zero faith,” a young friend said. “I believed in nothing at all. I wished I could, but it just wasn’t there. I began praying, without faith, that God would help me to believe. He did. I know He answers that kind of prayer.” This person is a conscientious wife and mother, a faithful church member, and a growing Christian. Her...

Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24 ESV)
“I had zero faith,” a young friend said.
“I believed in nothing at all. I wished I could, but it just wasn’t there. I began praying, without faith, that God would help me to believe. He did. I know He answers that kind of prayer.”
This person is a conscientious wife and mother, a faithful church member, and a growing
Christian. Her life witnesses to the answer to her prayer. She started with nothing.
Sometimes we start with a small measure of faith, like that of the distraught father who asked
Jesus for the healing of his son. “I have faith,” he said, then, aware that it was not enough to
support the weight of the thing he was asking, “Help me where faith falls short.”
Most of our faith is very little only but we place it upon a Great God who is our Father.
Let your faith be on God and His Word not on your faith, feeling, people or circumstances.
Faith on God is based on His Word (Rom.10:17). Faith on our own faith is based on our own emotions.
Unbelief is a stronghold of such spiritual power that only mighty spiritual weapons can storm it.
For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds (2 Cor 10:4 ESV).
Prayer is one of them.
Satan trembles when he sees the weakest believer upon his knees.

Focus on His Faithfulness https://mymanna.org/focus-on-his-faithfulness/ Wed, 03 Aug 2016 22:39:35 +0000 http://mannadevotionals.com/?p=41 Do you ride an emotional roller coaster of faith? Do you feel that sometimes God hides from you? Do you ever wrestle with a problem and never find the insight to explain it? Do you ever wonder why prayers may go unanswered year after year? You are not alone in having these feelings of abandonment by God. You are not alone in having those periods of doubt and frustrations. Look at the words of David in the following Psalms. Psalm...

Psalm 10:1 Why, O LORD, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
Psalm 22:1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning?
On the cross Jesus quotes Psalm 22:1
Matthew 27:46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
Again in Psalm 13 David cries out:
Psalm 13:1-3 How long, O LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? Look on me and answer, O LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;
Can you relate to David? I sure can. As you read through the Psalms you see that David does continue to trust God and have faith in God. David realizes as I am sure all of you do, God never turns His face from us. God is always there. We are the ones that turn our backs and hearts from God. Psalm 16:11.
Do you know that God can and will help you beyond your faith and imagination? Eph 3:20.
If you cannot depend upon your faith, just depend upon His faithfulness.
Father, Forgive me when I doubt your presence. Forgive me when I feel so alone and so distant from you. I know you are always there, always patiently waiting for me. I know sometimes as your child you need to press and mold me into becoming all You want me to become. Help me to praise you for caring so much about me, that you take that time to mold me. You have made known to me the path of life; You fill me with joy in your prescence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. In Jesus name, Amen.
