“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he” (Proverbs 29:18).

Helen Keller was born blind, but she had vision.
A reporter asked Miss Keller, “Is there anything worse than being born blind?” “Yes,” she said, “It is to have sight and no vision.”

Do you have a vision for your life at the beginning of this new year?

On New Year’s Day, I review the goals for my life. These are my
– Spiritual, Relational, Intellectual, Physical, Financial and few other goals!

I pray over these and ask for God’s will to be done in each one. I hold them in an open hand and ask that God would give me wisdom as to the direction He wants for my life. I don’t want to be a man without vision. I don’t want you to be one either.

Begin to think about some goals you would like for your life Pray and seek the Lord’s face as you ponder about your future!

“Boast not yourself of tomorrow; for you know not what a day may bring forth.” (Proverbs 27:1)

I read some research by William Morriston,
– a psychologist, who reported that 94% of the 3,000 persons he surveyed were enduring today in order to get to tomorrow.

Do you know anyone like that?
Perhaps you are one of those.

Tomorrow, you’re going on vacation.
Tomorrow, you’re going to get the house cleaned.
Tomorrow, you’re going to start your diet.
Tomorrow, you’re going to balance your checkbook.
Tomorrow… tomorrow… tomorrow…

The only problem is tomorrow never arrives!
When it gets here, it is today.

And today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.
It is always today.

What are you worrying about?
It’s time to ask His forgiveness and give Him your concern.

He is more than able to handle it.

Worry is pulling tomorrow’s clouds over today’s sunshine.
Worry about nothing!

Pray about every thing!!
Worried about what tomorrow will bring?

God-
– knows your future!
– holds your future!!
– and is your future!!!

Enter each new day with Him!
Goodness and mercy shall follow you!!

“From this day will I bless you” (Haggai 2:19).

Future things are hidden from us.
Yet we may see the unborn years.

The Lord says: “From this day will I bless you!”
It is worthwhile to note the day which is referred to in this promise.

There had been failure of crops, blasting, and mildew, and all because of the people’s sin.
The Lord saw these chastened ones commencing to obey His word and build His temple, and therefore He says, “From the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid, consider. From this day will I bless you.”

If we have lived in any sin,
– and the Spirit leads us to purge ourselves of it,
– we may reckon upon the blessing of the Lord.

His Spirit,
His saving grace,
His sovereign power-
– will all prove to us an enlarged blessing!

We may fall into greater opposition-
– from man because of our faithfulness.

But-
We shall rise to be closer with the Lord our God!
And have a clearer sight of our acceptance in Him!!

“Lord, I am resolved to be more true to You and more exact in my following of Your principles and precepts. Please help me.
I pray to You, therefore, by Christ Jesus, to increase the blessedness of my daily life now and forever. Amen!”

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies” (Psalm 23:5).

Driven into the wilderness by his son Absalom’ s rebellion-
David and his followers became desperately hungry, thirsty, and weary!

God came to his aid, however, and directed to him three men who “brought beds (and) basins” (so that David could wash and refresh himself) as well as “pottery items… wheat, barley, flour, roasted grain, beans, lentils, honey, curds, sheep, and cheese.”

How David must have rubbed his eyes in astonishment-
– as he saw God provide for him a table “in the presence of (his) enemies.”
Can you cast your mind back at this moment to something “special” that God did for you to demonstrate His tender love and care?

I can!

Every Christian has these times!
– how sad that we forget them so soon.

God never does anything “special” in our lives just for the sake of the passing hour.
It is done also as a pledge for the future!

It is as though God is saying:
“I’ll do this for you now, not only to meet your need,
but also that you might always know you are the object of My love.”

If new dangers startle us with fear, we have forgotten the past mercies.
I believe that David’ s confidence in God was due to the fact that whenever he faced a new problem, he remembered vividly the past hour of deliverance!

May God forgive us for taking so much for granted-
– rather than taking it with gratitude!
“I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands”. Psalm 143:5.

“But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
We have all considered-
– whether we would be willing to suffer for, even die for, Jesus.
For me-
– though, being willing was not the tough question.
My fearful question is:
Would I actually be able to?
I always find hope in the fact that God promised that He would always be with us.
When we come to Christ-
He fills us with His Spirit, and the Spirit of the Lord will be sufficient in the day of the crisis.
He does not give us strength for tomorrow’s crisis today.
He gives us strength for the crisis when the crisis time comes.
It’s understandable that each of us would gulp and say, “I hope I am willing.”
And then wonder deep inside if we really would be.
Well, I want you to know, as cowardly, weak, and selfish as I am-
I know I could not do that on my own strength.
But I’m going to trust that-
– the power of the Holy Spirit will give me strength in that moment of crisis
– strength that I just can’t imagine having today.

The Bible does indicate that life will become very difficult before Christ comes again:
“For then there will be great distress, unequalled from the beginning of the world until now” (Matthew 24:21).
Are we living in those days?
The Bible warns us against setting dates or trying to make precise predictions.
We need to remember that the world has gone through hard times before.
But-
The Bible does give us a number of other signs or events that must take place before Christ returns.
And many of these seem evident today.
For example-
Jesus said that “this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world … and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).
Never has this been more possible than today, with satellites and the Internet making the Gospel accessible to millions around the world.
Instead of being fearful about the future-
I urge you to be optimistic – because of Christ.
He alone is our hope, for someday He will return to establish His perfect Kingdom of righteousness and peace.
Keep your eyes on Him!
In the meantime-
Ask God to help you make whatever adjustments you need to during these difficult days, and to trust the future into His hands.
The Bible says, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have” (Hebrews 13:5).
This may seem hard.
But-
It’s the way of peace.

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good for those that love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
Sometimes we should take a closer look at our scriptures.
For instance, the Bible doesn’t say that money is the root of all evil; it says the love of money is the root of all sorts of evil.
Jonah was swallowed by a big fish; it never says a whale.
And Eve ate the forbidden fruit; it never says an apple.
Likewise-
God does not guarantee that all things work together for good.
Do you think for people in hell things have worked out for their good?
He declares that all things work together for good “for those that love God and are called according to His purpose.”
This is a significantly different meaning!
In other words-
Things most certainly work out good for you if – and this is a big if – you are a follower of Christ, willing to trust in His plan, willing to trust in His will, and to seek to fulfill His will.
Under those conditions-
– all things do work together for good!
No matter what kind of setback you face,
-no matter what kind of rejection by man,
-no matter what kind of suffering you have in this life,
-no matter what kind of disappointment and hurt you endure-
God can bring good out of any situation, even out of any evil of our own or that is thrust upon us.
If you choose to trust God-
He can bring good out of the darkest, most dismal situation.
Why don’t you start looking for the good that God wants to bring?

What’s going to happen-

Many people waste time-

The Bible gives us a wonderful promise:
God says:
“I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
Can we know the future?
No!
We can’t!!
But we can face the future with confidence-
– when we know that God is in control!
– and He is working for our good (Romans 8:28).
No matter what circumstances come our way-
– we know He’s there for us.
When I read the newspapers or see the evening news-
– I don’t always feel optimistic about the future.
– and pessimistic about the days to come,
– but realistic about my earthly and eternal life.
When I put my trust in God-
I know that He is in complete control;
I have hope for tomorrow and
– strength for living each and every day.
