As a result of the disease of sin– men and women are spoken of in Scripture as being dead in sin. 

Paul said to the Ephesians, “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.” Ephesians 2:1,2.

We cannot save ourselves. We cannot pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps. 

We can only put a little ointment here and a little ointment there to try to help us. 

But we’re spiritually dead—physically alive and soulishly alive-

– but spiritually dead. 

We need life that only Christ can give by His resurrection. And He offers it to us today if we will come to Him by repentance and faith.
