Properly Present
In these troubled times-
– it is so tempting to soft-pedal the issue of belief and say something along the lines of, “We all worship the same God. And you can choose your path. I have chosen mine. Mine is Christ. But if you want to worship some other way, that is fine.”
But it is not fine.
And you can’t say that if you are a true Christian.
You must believe and I must believe that Jesus is the only way to God.
Because of all the other gurus, prophets, and religious leaders who have come down the road, none of them were God.
Therefore, none of them could put us in touch with God.
Even if they had been crucified on a cross, it would not have mattered.
Jesus, who was God, was the only one who could bridge the gap and shed His blood in our place.
Jesus himself said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” John 14:6.
Therefore, to properly present His message, I can say nothing less.
The apostle Peter echoed this thought when he said, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12.
The apostle Paul said the same thing:
“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 2:5.
If I say that to people, maybe they will be offended.
But then again, maybe they will believe.
Who am I to edit the gospel?
Who am I to say, “Lord, we need to update this whole thing for the new century.”
We need to give the gospel message and not change it, not even one little bit.
