Match His Message
“Why do you look for the living among the dead?
He is not here; he has risen!” Luke 24:5-6.
According to an article in Newsweek magazine-
– researchers in Jerusalem have found a tomb which they claim contained the bones of Jesus Christ.
What is your first reaction to reading that statement?
Do you scoff at how ridiculous a notion it is?
Does it make you upset?
Jesus is alive and well.
His physical being lives today in heaven.
And His Spirit continues to dwell on earth in the hearts and souls of those who love and follow Him.
And yet the world continues to search for Him among the dead.
Why is that?
I believe that part of the reason is because-
– we as believers do not show the world the living Christ through our actions.
We talk a lot about who Jesus is and that He’s the Son of God-
– but so many times our actions fail to match His message!
It is our responsibility to show Christ to the world through our everyday lives.
It is only by loving your neighbor as yourself that you can influence the world’s view of who Christ is.
And when we fail to do this, we reinforce the position that-
Jesus was simply a great teacher who died and was buried.
But you know there’s more to the story.
You and I both know that everything we do either confirms to the world that Jesus is dead, or that He has risen.
As we celebrate Easter-
– let’s consider how we present Jesus to the world.
Ask Christ to show those around you His love through your actions.
