Don’t Ever Assume
“Aren’t two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s consent.” Matthew 10:29.
Have you ever been in a stadium with thousands of screaming fans?
Did you wonder how God could possibly know every person there?
It’s pretty mind-boggling!
But even though there are billions of people in the world-
– the Bible says God knows everything there is to know about every one of us!
Jesus, in fact, made a point of showing his disciples just how intimately the Father knew them.
Sparrows, for example, are among the least important creatures on earth.
Their life span is extremely short.
Who even notices when they die?
God does.
So why shouldn’t he be more than capable of loving each and every person he’s created?
What’s more, he even knows the number of hairs on our heads!
The truth is-
God knows us better than we know ourselves.
He doesn’t see us as a massive crowd but as individuals, and he loves each one of us.
Jesus’ disciples were going out into a hostile world.
They would be mocked and threatened by hateful, dangerous people, and would even come face-to-face with demons!
Jesus wanted to assure them that their heavenly Father was in control-
– that he loved each one of them and was watching over them.
This same promise is for you, too.
Don’t ever assume you’re just one of the crowd.
God is-
– intimately acquainted with you
– and involved in your life.
He knows everything about you and loves you more than you know.
Who’s someone you know who needs to be reminded of this truth today?
